Love?
hmm... have been thinking lately.. how do you know a person really loves u? or what should you do to show that u really love that person?
Honesty? Gifts? Time? Words of encouragement? Intimacy? or sacrificial love? ( does sacrificial love means be his/her "slave" no matter the other person loves u or not? ) I don't think so ba.. I have a feeling that i'm not loving the right way..
Different people reacts differently... perception of love is very different also... this will be a very short entry before i go for reservist.. hope i will get some comments after i come back 2 weeks later?

hi Delei,
i think there is no sure-test to diagnose if someone really loves you. Because each and everyone of us love and perceive / receive love in a different way. for some, to give his/her time to you is love, for others it may be gifts, serving, touch or verbal praise.. but as you know someone more, you will better understand him/her. by understand his/her love language, you can better love that person. i sincerely believe if you truly love someone, he/she can feel it. similarly, if he/she loves you, you can feel it too.
take our mum and dad for example, i am sure you have no doubt that they love you right? it is so so real and obvious.
aboveall, i guess it is abt putting that person's interest above our own and looking from his/her perspective.
to be a slave? i dun agree... cos Paul says in 1Cor 6:12 "(though)I am allowed to do anything, I must not become a slave to anything". i believe we should bring out the best in the one whom we love, which may include helping him/her to be disciplined to do some things he/she dun like.
but having said all these, it is really tough to be patient all the time... to not be calculative, to forget wrongs, to not be proud, to not seek our own interest, to not be angry easily... (from 1 Cor 13:4-8) i guess these are the more day-to-day "hows" to love.
:)
thanks fen fen..
Your friend put it pretty well.
